In the city of Urgench, traffic police inspectors stopped a bus displaying unusual driving behavior on the route “Urgench – Khiva” during a routine patrol. The vehicle’s erratic movement raised suspicions, prompting the officers to conduct a check.
The driver ignored the lawful stop signal issued by the officers using a whistle and signal lights and attempted to flee. However, the bus was intercepted at the next intersection thanks to the swift actions of the patrol team. At the time, the bus was carrying dozens of passengers, including small children. The person responsible for their safety turned out to be the one causing significant risk.
Inspection Results
A medical examination revealed a blood alcohol level of 0.55‰ (the legal limit is 0.3‰), exceeding the permissible norms. What makes this situation worse is that passengers, including children, were on board during the incident. The driver’s actions jeopardized the health and lives of everyone on the bus.
Legal Consequences
An administrative protocol was issued against the driver under Articles 131 and 194 of the Code of Administrative Offenses.
He now faces suspension of his driving license and a hefty fine.
