Russian marketplace Ozon has announced the launch of its logistics infrastructure in Uzbekistan and has begun engaging local sellers to participate in sales through its platform. The company has already started operations at its first sorting center in Tashkent and has opened applications for setting up Ozon pick-up points through franchising across the country.

At the first stage, local sellers can use two schemes for selling goods from Uzbekistan to Russia: “delivery by the seller” and “sales from the seller’s warehouse,” where the entrepreneur stores the goods but transfers them to the marketplace for delivery to the customer.
To speed up deliveries under this scheme, Ozon has launched its first sorting center in Tashkent, with a space of 1,000 m². The logistics facility will ensure the receipt, processing, and preparation of orders for delivery within Uzbekistan and Russia. In the future, the company plans to expand this facility to 5,000 m². Additionally, Ozon plans to open three more sorting centers in Uzbekistan—in Fergana, Termez, and Bukhara—which will create over 2,000 jobs for local residents.

Franchising and Pick-up Points
Following its development strategy in Uzbekistan, Ozon has opened applications for entrepreneurs to launch branded Ozon pick-up points (PVZ) through franchising. By 2027, the company plans to open over 1,500 PVZ across all cities of the republic, allowing 1,000 local entrepreneurs to start businesses in a new format while giving customers the convenience of receiving orders at their preferred time.
For the first six months after opening a PVZ in a priority location, Ozon subsidizes partners, offering up to 81 million UZS to reduce potential business risks. Entrepreneurs earn 3.7% of the order turnover processed at their point, and they can also generate additional income from other services, such as accepting goods from sellers or handling orders from other logistics companies.
Each PVZ creates 2-3 jobs on the entrepreneur’s side, and the total number of employees involved in pick-up point operations is expected to exceed 4,000 people.
Ozon’s pick-up points have become the preferred delivery option for 9 out of 10 customers, thanks to their widespread availability, free delivery, and the ability to check orders, try on clothes in comfortable fitting rooms, and return unsuitable items for free, added Zahidov.
