The Statistics Committee published yet another set of strange figures regarding the salaries of Uzbekistanis. Officials believe that in the first half of 2024, Uzbekistanis received an average of about 5.1 million soms. Meanwhile, in Tashkent, the average salary exceeded 8.4 million soms.
In January-June 2024, the highest average monthly salary rates by region were recorded in Tashkent (8.4 million soms), Navoi (6.6 million soms), Tashkent region (4.9 million soms), Andijan (4.4 million soms), and Karakalpakstan (4.1 million soms). The region with the lowest salary was Kashkadarya (3.6 million soms).
The highest salaries were recorded in the banking, insurance, leasing, and credit intermediation activities – 14.4 million soms. The worst situation is in education, healthcare, and social services. Here, the salary is approximately 3.4 million soms.
